Hello,

I am trying to design a unistrut stand for mounting an ac combiner panel upright on a flat roof without penetrating the roof. I don't know where to start. The panel is 72"x20"x6.5" and weighs 153lbs. Where do I being?

Get a wooden pallet. Screw your unistrut structure to the pallet. Buy two bags of cement mix at the hardware store. Set the cement mix on the pallet to hold it in place.

Height is 72"? Maybe then you'll need more cement mix and a wider base to hold it against the wind. Where I worked 17 years ago, we used this method to install antennas on rooftops if they needed only 5 to 10 feet of height above the roof. But the antennas were only a flat panel about 12" by 15", so they didn't catch much wind.

Get some durablocks and put some 10' strut across them about 18" apart. Put your cabinet and the middle and attach it to the strut. Then run an angle on each side to near the top of the cabinet. Add some CMU's if you think you need it.
