when determing the elec load of a new bldg, such as a pottery lab at a school, how can i come up with an estimated/ball park electrical service required for the following loads?

15 elec pottery wheels 120v
4 kilns 240v 1 ph 48 amps
3 welders 230v 50 amps
1 clay mixer 208 1 ph 20 amp
2 computers 120v
1 big screen 120v
10 outlets 120v 20 amp

any help would be appreciated, i was asked by the art instructor to come up with a ball park estimate.

Follow the requirements outlined in Article 220 and use all the indivdual appliances at nameplate. Don't ballpark the service needed - know the correct service needed.

Those may be your known, dedicated loads, but there's more to a building than that, such as lighting, general purpose receps, etc. Being a school, is there a need for a dedicated circuit for things like a floor buffer? What about a fire alarm panel? Heating and cooling?

i agree

i agree

thanks for your suggestions, we are in the planning stages now for the new bldg and are going out for bids on the electrical service needed, i agree, we need to figure all of the loads, not just the ones i listed.
