I am curious about what other contractors charge for wiring and installing devices in new construction. I am currently charging 40 per rec 40 per switch 80 per gfi. I also charge 40 per light plus 25 to install. Also 125 for a ceiling fan and 95 for a recessed fixture.I make money because i have been doing it for a while but it seems a little low. Just wondering.

Do your prices include furnishing the light fixture or the ceiling fan or the recessed fixture? Or are your prices for owner-furnished lights and fans, and you just install them?

Re: Devices

I can see it partly justified being it will often cause warranty work for mis use or tripping for customers fault.Sure wish we could get them prices here in Tampa or any other place in Florida.Where are you ?

This leads me to another question: What is normal markup for parts?

If a customer can locate a GFI for $12, is it justifiable to charge $20 for the same item, to account for handling?

Is it worth $20 for our knowledge of how a GFI works? For our knowledge of where GFI is required, and all the rules involved?
