Thanks fido If pooch could answer one more question, is that code saying there is no minimum height
Not more than 6ft 7 but not less than???

Pikey says there's no minimum height, but I suppose he didn't consider burying it, ironically enough. :D

If I had to guess, I'd guess that some people are thinking about mounting the disco right at the height where a cable or conduit would come out of the band board from the basment or crawl space. This would keep them from fishing up inside the exterior wall a bit, or using an LB and a bit of exposed pipe outdoors. Just a guess, but I've seen disco's for AC and hot tubs added at band board level enough times, and I still think it looks silly.

Depends on the height of the bandboard. I agree if its 1' over grade, but I'm doing a house right now where the bandboard on the service entrance side is over my head on the exterior.
