Disconnect to a transformer

When installing a dissconnest on the primary side to a 480v transformer. What are the requirements as far as the location of that disconnect?

If your asking about "within sight" of the transformer it's not required to be within sight.

The feeder to the transformer primary requires an OCPD ahead of that feeder. That OCPD can be in the same room as the transformer or in the basement of the building feeding the transformer ion the 20th floor. A disconnect is not required for a transformer primary. You won't find that in the code book because there is no requirement for a disconnect.

Why not within sight; code-wise?

cause code does not require in sight

this is not cheap so not giving it away free
