Disconnects

In an industrial facility, are disconnects required to be within line of sight of the device they are disconnecting? It is my understanding that if the disconnect is lockable it is not required to be in line of sight.

I believe 430.102 is what your looking for.

If you don't have a written lock out procedure and "quailfied" maintenance personel, you must have a disconenct within sight of the equipment.
