dishroom disconnect

I have a dishwasher fed by a 100A 3 phase circuit and a booster heater fed by a 150A 3 phase circuit.
The appliances have switches located on them.
Do I need to have additional disconnects within sight of them? Thanks.

See article 422.32 exception and 422.34, as long as the unit has a switch to disconnect all ungrounded conductors then your "other means of disconnect" can be the breaker. So no you do not need addtional "within sight".

422.31(B) seems to say any location is ok, as long as the switch can be locked in the open position.

422.31(B)FPN takes me to 422.34 and then (D) says the switch shall be readily accessable.
Im not sure what is normally done here.

Isnt it saying that the other means of disconnect shall be permitted as long as it is readily accessable?
Does readily accessable mean within sight?

Thats true but this other disconnecting means is located one floor below in the basement.

I want A safe installation but for this wet location these switches would cost aprox. $500.

I guess its how you read the article and the definition. Readliy accessible-capable of being reached quickly for operation, renewel or inspections without requiring those to whom ready access is requisite to climb over or remove obstacles or to resort to portable ladders and so forth. So if its on another floor then "capable of being reached quickly for operation" might not be in compliance so then you would need an additional disconnect or use a breaker lock. Hopefully others will give input as well.

Readily accessible does not have to be within sight or on same floor.

If the disconnects they are fed from are capable of being locked out, that is sufficient.

The disconnect locations should be listed on dw.

Labling is much cheaper than buying disconnects if thats true.
Does it talk about this kind of labling in the N.E.C?
