Macmikeman. I answered this above but here is the code reference:
725.55 (A) Cables of class 2 circuits (doorbell) shall not be placed in the same cable, outlet box, ...., with any conductor of electric light,power or class 1 circuit.
see definition of conductor. A NM cable is a contains conductors and is a chapter 3 wiring method. If you accept that doorbell wire can run alongside rigid conduit or MC cable, then it can run with NM cable in the same stud hole.
