Distribution

I have an industrial panel.......supply 480vac, 500a MCCB......MCCB feeds into a distribution block... I'd like to have a 100a feeder from the distribution block go first to a contactor, then to a group of ganged (busbar) din-rail mounted circuit breakers. Is this allowable or does my feeder need to first go to a fuse or circuit breaker before the contactor? Distance from the distribution block to the contactor would be 2-3ft. From the contactor to the bus bar would be 1-2ft.

Can't seem to locate a reference to what I'm looking for in the code book.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks, Bob :dunce:

Industrial panels are often built to Codes other than the NEC.
If you were building per NEC I think most my concerns would focus on SCA and withstand ratings on the contactor, distribution block and din rail equipment.. Do you know the SCA or withstand ratings ?'
If those pose no problem I would next look at 240.21 tap rules
