Hello everyone,

I bought a DM 556 driver to power a Nema 23 stepper motor on my CNC plasma cutter. After it worked once, the error indicator light on the driver stayed on red.

Normally, the error indicator light flashes, not stays on red. I bought another one, which worked fine at first, but later the motor started vibrating and malfunctioning.

Now I bought a third one, and the same error indicator light is still on red. Does anyone know what a constantly red light means? I didn't directly power the ENA+ terminal as I saw in a YouTube video, because that would cause the red light to stay on.

Thank you very much for your help.

looks like from the manual shown above, it is an over voltage error, greater than 45V DC, says to correct the issue, then reboot the drive. Could of been damaged if the voltage was excessively high.
