Do you pay attention to "Tick Marks"?

Re: Do you pay attention to "Tick Marks"?

One of the EE's I used to wire for, I had to follow his spec's exactly or he would not sign off on the job. So I just got into the habit of wiring the way the circuits were layed out.

Re: Do you pay attention to "Tick Marks"?

The way I see it. If the tick marks are there saying to put so many circuits in a certain box and you don't because you didn't think it was needed. And later down the road there was a reason to why the circuit was on the print comes up. and you didn't install it, you would be wrong if you didn't get a ok to not install. And at the same time if you see something wrong at the time of install, you should bring it up to the attention of the person in charge and get a correction.

My purpose was to ?undeceive? some of my fellow engineers who had held one or more of the following opinions: (1) Tick marks were needed, (2) They had to be right, (3) The contractor could not be relied upon to get the wiring right unless this information is provided by the designer, and/or (4) Failure to show the tick marks was an invitation for a change order.

As to the nature of the poll questions and the limited options (Yes or No, with no other choice), that was my first attempt at using the polling feature. I think it may have been the first attempt by anyone on this Forum. Now that I?ve done it once, I have a better idea of how to structure a poll, and I?ll pass the information to the other Moderators (the only members who are authorized to post a poll).

Thanks again.

That is the method I prefer to use as well.
