I came across this installation while inspecting some other work on the same site.

The earth settled around the building, pulling the PVC conduit from the fittings.

Do you see any other code issues?

What on earth is that coming out of the ground between the disconects a wrapped in tape? Or do we not want to know?

I don't see a trace of glue, FWIW.

I've seen that happen where we've used glue. But there aren't any marks where glue would leave them. What's the big black thing in the middle?

I am guilty of not always using glue on box adapters in some cases. Usually smaller pipe/boxes in case someone wants to remove it later.

I know how to backfill though.;)

Is the the H2O service coming in between the discos???

Not really a big deal where you live as you don't get cold and snow and major ground movement as a result.

Don't think those strut straps are rated for use with PVC, but I doubt it would have prevented that from happening

heavywall strut straps can't be used with pvc? news to me.

In responce to JERM, Around here they make us use 2 hole PVC straps. And in this installation we would be required to use expansion joints. I am in SE Ohio.

Looks like the trough is too small. If those are 1.25" conduits, then it needs to be 10" tall, if the conduits are 1.5" then the trough needs to be 12" tall.

pvc straps crack in the cold after a while... use a 1-hole rigid strap (1/2" rigid 1H fits 1/2" PVC.. and so on) Only 1 hole to drill and your good to go
