Does someone make a fitting that can mate a D-sub connector to a MC cable?

There are d-sub connectors rated for 10's of amps and 300V:

There are some very general purpose backshells that might work, but would not be listed:

The concept is certainly _possible_; 'modular wiring systems' look like they have connectors with backshells that are similar to what you want:

Positronic will make custom backshells for you. Just write your specification on the back of a large enough check. :)

I poked at this a bit more. You might be able to assemble something from off the shelf components.

You can get npt threaded 'cable glands' designed for MC cable (they are usually for MC with a plastic over covering ('TECK' cable) but...

You can get 'connector backshells' that thread on to the cable clamp. But my quick search only found things for metric threads.

You can get adapters that go from NPT thread to 'spin coupling', and 'spin coupling' is used on some backshells.

I'd suggest giving Glenair a call to see if they have something as a standard catalog item. It will likely be something crazy like a space rated part that costs more than a small car. But it might be worth the call just for the laugh.
