Electric washing machine? I've seen them with gas engines, but that was before GFCIs were around.
This is in a free standing steel building which will store a travel trailer and one automoble. It is a washer /dryer setup alongside a water heater.
Is this free standing steel building an accessory building to a single family dwelling unit?
If it is then 210.8(A)(2) would apply.

With a yes and a no, I think you pretty much covered every scenario.:grin:I did say yes and no so I threw in two examples. The list wasn't meant to be all inclusive to every possible scenario.![]()
And so would exception No. 2.
Install a single receptacle for a no. Duplex=yes. This is in a free standing steel building which will store a travel trailer and one automoble. It is a washer /dryer setup alongside a water heater.
Then I stand corrected. GFCI required.Depends on what code cycle you are under.
The exceptions to 210.8(A)(2) were eliminated in the 2008 NEC.

Live in the trailer while the house is being built? There is no residence "YET"! Just a steel building to house a car and a travel trailer. Owner wants ability to wash clothes-re: hot water heater, washer and dryer. House will be built in the future with a laundry room in the floor plan layout.
