Here, Master Electricians may do the designing for certain building sizes and types, and a certain $ amount. There is a chart that makes it easy to determine.

I recommend starting at your local building-permit and/or planning-review departments. They can tell you whether you qualify, or what credentials are required.

I've done two, but you bet your sweet bippy that I made sure I covered the time spent designing and laying out, doing calcs, making submissible prints, etc.

"Sweet bippy"?????

About 33% of my business is design build, from simple lease spaces to projects in the multimillion dollar range.

One piece of advice- No matter what size project you DB, put money in to have it reviewed and sealed by an engineer. This will satisfy any issues your AHJ may or may not have with Master Electricians doing design, is a great selling point to the owner, makes your insurance company happy, and the relationships you build with the local engineers will be better and they may send work your way too. It’s a win win deal, and it does not cost very much, as compared to when a PE does the full design himself.
