A house I'm rough wiring had a central vac system installed. They installed these
Vaculine Electravalve valves all over. They have a 12/2 romex tail that gets tied into the closest recp.

I went to tie in the wires to my recps today and noticed it was a 12/2 No Ground wire! ;)
UL Listing

I never knew 422.15 existed...Interesting!

Re: Don't need no stinkin ground!

I like how they take the time to jab at the competition in the "Whom it may concern" memo.

Re: Don't need no stinkin ground!

"Be careful that they don't wire them into your bathroom receptacles or your small appliance circuts, etc..."
Why ? as long as the outlet is in the same room i think its allowed

Re: Don't need no stinkin ground!

If the bathroom is served by a single circuit, you can add this item to that circuit. But you can't add it to a small appliance circuit, even if it is in the same room.

Re: Don't need no stinkin ground!

No problem, they are all in Liv. rm, fam rm, and halls and one is in the M. Bed.
It BETTER NOT affect the AFCI!

If its in a bathroom and the circuit is dedicated to that bathroom then it's fine.If its on a receptacle circuit for bathrooms i think its still the only circuit you could put it on.As to a kitchen why not ?This is still a receptacle outlet and since its in the kitchen it belongs on the SA

Re: Don't need no stinkin ground!

It should not be any more of a problem than a standard vac and the load will be much smaller

This is the same valve, by the way, that's used with almost every brand of central vac system that I've ever installed. I never really took the time to ponder the 2-wire dealio.
