I will be starting a panel build this spring that uses a Hoffman flange-mount disconnect enclosure with an Allen-Bradley 1494U (400 Amp) disconnect switch. It has been several years since I last worked with a flange mount disconnect. Looking at the install documentation for the switch, it looks like I will need to weld the door catch bracket to the door. Before I get into this, I want to make sure I avoid any surprises in regard to bracket position or how it fits with the defeater bar. Are the dimension in the 1494U installation instructions reliable, or should I expect to tweak them a bit? Is there anything else I should watch out for?

Built some panels with door mounted handles to control a circuit breaker but never had to weld a piece on panel. I have never used one but years ago remember somebody offered a door operator that used a cable ( something like enclosed brake cables in ten speed bicycles. Can not amiagine what high heat from welding would due to nice painted surface.

Typically a stud welder is used, with kep nuts
I have installed a lot of Hoffman accessories, (lock kits, latches)their dimensions are in decimal, and I have to convert to fractions.
You just need to measure carefully, subtract or add for panel/door thickness
