Door In Door/ Dead Front

Dead front is the traditional cover on most panels that covers the breakers & guts.

I think door in door is another term for hinged covers, where the outer door opens to show the breakers. To get inside, remove a few screws and the dead front opens the same way, still hinged to the panel. A great time saver.

I had a client ask that question recently. At my request, the local GE rep sent me the attached information.

Ah, the double hinged covers! Best thing since sliced bread. Worth every penny too.
