Double pole vs single pole

Kitchen GFCI receptacle not working along with the other three regular receptacles in the circuit, power is getting to the line side but not leaving out the load side. Is this supposed to be a single pole receptacle.

I think you may mean feed through instead of single pole. Every GFCI recpt I have ever seen can be wired for feed through protection of downstream recpts.

Well yea but what I’m asking is if it’s supposed to be a single pole. But yes I’m using it to feed thru to the other three in line

I looked twice. Where do they mention "single pole"? Duplex yes.

Yeah, that's a bogus label for sure. Doesn't bode well for what it's stuck to.

open the PDF in Adobe Reader, right click on the page, --> Find "pole", then keep clicking NEXT on the Find box

page 10, item 1597SWTTR*CC4

not sure why they even mention "pole".

UL emblem looks legit (Arial font, same thickness of the UL and the circle). With power supplied, will the GFI reset? I think all require power to reset. I don't think it's intended for more than one conductor under each screw, though, either pigtail to the next recept or everything downstream must be GFI protected. Pretty "cheesy looking".

Edit timed out...

Hard to see what you're asking by the pic. I probably don't see as many residential GFCI receptacles as y'all, but what's the question? What do you mean by single or double pole? The description of the problem sounds like it's just tripped and all of the downstream recepts are wired to the Load side.

I say that they list it as a 2 pole because it opens both the line side hot AND neutral to its outputs.

Make sure you don't have "line" & "load" reversed. If they are reversed the receptacle will not set. Other than that, if you have power present, then the GFCI is bad, try a new one.

Not sure what the "2-pole" means on the sticker.

ETA: Just re-read your post. Are you saying that you actually checked the GFCI receptacle and it works or just that you checked voltage at the terminals? If just the terminals, I go with my reply above.
Actually, if it works and the load doesn't, then still needs replacing.

Thanks all, we got it to work. I really don’t know what the problem was because I know I hit the test and reset button a few times before even asking. But eventually after buying a new one and resetting it,it worked. So I put the old one back on to see if it worked as well and it did... I still took it off and went with the newer one tho. But thanks to all who replied..

Could be that the Line side had a bad connection. If it doesn't see Line side voltage, it won't reset.

FWIW the 5-15 receptacle is sometimes referred to "two pole three wire"

If a receptacle were "single pole" it would just be one conductor that connects to whatever plug matches it.

It was very weird because it was a duplex receptacle both of them was getting voltage from the line side, but the load side wire wasn’t getting anything and thus not sending it to the other downstream from it.

If you have line and load conductors reversed newer units will not reset either, fairly certain this is a listing requirement.

That very well could have been the issue, it was a pre existing problem at a friends house. I may have over looked that initially and then when I replaced it wired it correctly and it was able to reset, and then when I placed the old one on it worked as well cuz I did that one correctly too

then what exactly is their "single pole" as listed in their PDF products guide ??
