Is there a code that says you have to lable a normal receptacle as GFI protected if it is connected down stream of a GFI receptacle?
Agreed.Originally posted by electricmanscott:
Do GFCI circuit breakers come with labels? No they don't. I would have a hard time believing there is anything that would require you to label a "normal" receptacle as GFCI protected.
For those of us that can read the code book, it does mention a "normal" receptacle.(c)A nongrounding-type receptacle(s) shall be permitted to be replaced with a grounding-type receptacle(s) where supplied through a ground-fault circuit interrupter. Grounding-type receptacles supplied through the ground-fault circuit interrupter shall be marked ?GFCI Protected? and ?No Equipment Ground.? An equipment grounding conductor shall not be connected between the grounding-type.
What's that supposed to mean? For those of us that can read the code book, it does mention a "normal" receptacle.
The original post is above. It does not mention grounding but refers to a "normal" receptacle. It does mention "label" and "down stream".chuck@apsinc.biz

Read highkvoltage's post. He understood the question and agreed with my answer.infinity
Sparky, since you seem to know it all and aren't 'still learning' maybe we should just address all of the questions to you personally.
Nowhere in Chuck's original post did it mention that the downstream receptacle had "NO GROUND", so your post doesn't even apply to the original question. For the record, we're all learning, that's why we're here.......
If I were wrong in my post, you should apply your own words and consider what you said here. For the record, we're all learning, that's why we're here.......
I suppose you're also one of those who sends letters using all 1? stamps taking up both the front and the back of the envelope.Originally posted by davedottcom:
