I have been delegated the task to make sure that our vans our stocked with all the various fasteners, nuts, bolts, etc that you would need as an electrician. We have a contract with a local supply house that will keep our vans filled and provide all the drawers but I need to get them a list so they can build the proper drawers.

What are some items that you would stock in your service van if it was geared towards commercial work?

What are some items that you would stock in your service van if it was geared towards Residential work?

Commercial:
3/4", 1", 1 1/4" nail in anchors
1/4", 3/8" 1/2" fender washers
1/4", 3/8" 1/2" nuts & bolts
1/4", 3/8" 1/2" wedge anchors
etc

Residential:
I have no idea where to start

If you guys have a list or something already done that you have done with your vans that would be awesome!

Most common service calls for residential are replacing switches, receptacles, smoke detectors or breakers. Keep a few aluminum rated for the really old houses and trailers.

Service work

Service work

Is this service or new work?

Basically this is for service work. We have a service van for commercial. One more for residential. The suggestions so far are helpful for material but as far as nuts and bolts, romex staples, etc....what should I have for both types of vans?

Is there an electrician using the van now that can make the list for themselves? I sure wouldn't care to be sent out in a van someone else stocked without having any say of what went into it...
