Duplex Main Service location.

In an old 1943 duplex, the main panel (without an disconnect switch) is located in the Fire separation wall, between the suites. i was wondering if there are any issues with the panel being located in the common wall anyone knows of?

Check with a building code professional. If it's a fire separation wall, rarely, if ever is equipment allowed to be inside the wall.

With a fire rated wall, any penetrations of that wall must maintain the fire resistance rating of the wall. That would mean that you most likely will have to wrap the cabinet with sheetrock or other approved material or methods that will maintain the fire resistance rating of the wall.
