Is there any code requirement to prevent Dw and disposols on seperate 15 amp Circuits? I have been doing them on seperate 20 amp circuits for 35 years but I am learning of much cheaper ways as of late.

Legal as long as the load is 15 amps or lower. Also note some will share a 20 amp circuit for both. And that disposal is a motor so it could even be on #14 and have a 20 amp breaker.

If it were technically an "appliance" and not a "motor", then that would not be correct. "Appliances" are not listed in Table 240.4(G).

Since they are mentioned in Article 422, I tend to swing with the "appliance" train of thought, myself.
