I was asked to do a dwelling service calculation for permitting reasons
on a remodel with no service so i will have to do a new service. When I
do a service calculation is that all that is usully required? I may have to show
service lateral/ service drawings but do you guys think i will have to provide
panel schedule or load analyis. I normally just attach my master number to
a project number and thats it . i hope thats the way i can do it again! thanks

depends on who your dealing with power company or the town. power company usually has a load calculation sheet and they just want to know the connected load. If its the town you should show in detail how you came up with your answer. I would not say a panel schedule is required. just show your work.

its residential so just do the normal 3va times square foot dont forget the small appliance and laundry demand and add in the larger loads that you know if you dont know the size of the range and you know its going to be electric shhh take your best guess if there are krap load of recessed through the house be resonable when you add em up and just come up with an aprox total load of stuff like that. the 3 va kinda figures in switched receptacles so if there is a 60 to a hundred cans figure some load for them and do the demand. where are u from?

thanks guys I guess there are some questions you just cant get answered
on this forum and you just have to go get involved for yourself. I went today
to see my inspector and he answered all of my questions. I found out that
I can ask ten JE the same question even from the same area i get ten different answers.
