Hello,
Is it easy and safe for an S-Corp to file their own annual report with the Secretary Of State? We are registered in North Carolina.

I did it for the first time this year. It is so simple. Go to the state website and get the form. I will look for it now for you
 
Let me give you a heads up. When you go to the link and type your business don't type more than the first part. If I type "alwon electric inc" it won't find me but if I type "Alwon" it does.

For the past 25 years we have been meeting our attorney annually for this filing and also to re-hash the previous year's major events and changes that have occured in our business. I am now beginning to assume that this meeting is not a requirement by state law but just another means of our attorney to extract money from us.
