Most of these forensic investigations sound a little fishy to me. There doesn't ever seem to be any proof, just some circumstantial evidence.

To publish the real investigation would require more pages than the magazine generally has for starters.

Send the author an e-mail with your comments and questions. I have done that more than once and have always gotten a reply. In one case I got the author to change his mind about some of the information, but it was never published with the changes.
