I do understand the magnetic field of only one conductor being used in emt or steel mc.It amounts to 1/2 turn on a core and is a transformer. If i use aluminum MC is there any proplems i should know about. On friday
we ran 12-4 mc alum for 2 sets of travlers .Is there any danger in this ?

Draw these two sets of travelers out, and then see if there is only one direction of current flow at any given time. This will be your answer, not necessarily a code violation though, but a bad practice none the less.

For this example think EMF only, not inductive heating as the NEC addresses.

Roger over the past year I have seen what an EMF person you are,but with large subdivisions built below high tension grids that buzz as you listen I would worry more about those than a 2 wire traveler.Sorry I for one worry more about what`s in a big mac than emf in a home.Did you see the documentory Super Size ??JMHO

Allen, I think you would be smart to purchase Karl's and others books on EMF issues.

There is BIASED and UNBIASED literature that you should read, then you can make an informed decision.
