EGC

Are you saying that someone might be touching the pipe at the moment of a ground fault, and be subject to possible electrocution?

If so, that is not an issue for many reasons, that we can go into.
 
ya but all those lose pipes are from crappy install—- so crappy termination can happen—
and installers who do that are not likely to correctly terminate the EGC
Totally agree with you guys here. Never understood how workers who do sloppy pipe work with all these loose fittings always somehow do good work on the wire egc connections. 🙄

Based on my experience, i see many many more sloppy/impaired wire nut connections than emt fitting connections, so i trust the pipe egc a lot more than the wire egc as a fault current path.
