Does anyone know of any code section prohibiting a 240V clothes dryer from being installed in a residential bathroom? The outlet would not have GFCI protection

Thanks,
Brian Dolan

Actually it's quite common around here to put a toilet and sink in the basement laundry room.

I am working on one right now that has a "guest bedroom with bath/laundry" in this house it is the bathroom that will be use when the swimming pool is used , so a washer dryer make sense.

That's a pretty common thing to do in my area in smaller homes and townhouses. The main bath often contains the laundry equipment.

Legal but poor design.

Not really, this house has two laundry rooms and 6 bathrooms. Does that sound "poor" ?

Why does a house need 2 laundries ? And if its big enough for 6 bathrooms why does it need to share space with a dryer ? The 6 bathrooms i can understand. They must be full of S---

Fairly common to have two laundries, one on each level, of the bigger 2-story 5+ bedrooms around here.

In my house, I hate carying all of the laundry down the stairs, to the machines in the garage. Then I have to carry it all back up the stairs.

Many times the second floor laundry will be in the Master Suite.

If you ment S--- to be Soap as in laundry soap maybe thats why they have two laundrys. If that bugs ya , you might hate to hear the house has 3 dishwashers. And if that doesn't get to you it has 4 refridgerators.
I could keep going but I'm afraid you might not be able to handle the stress :D

Great design. Jump out of the shower, no towel, no problem. Five minutes on low, your good to go.

ha ha reminds me of my brother. He lives in a one room cabin on a river in Iowa (batchelor of course). He said he likes waking up and having the refrigerator right there.

Many of the farmhouses in my area have two laundries. One for "barn clothes" and one for the family's regular clothes. Keeps the cow or chicken crap out of the regular laundry.
