Electric duct heater

Does a 3phase 208 volt duct heater that draws 11.5 amps need to be fused down if it is on a 20 amp breaker??

Depends on the units name plate ratings.

If it says max over current device 20 amps you are all set.

If it says max over current device 15 amps you can change the breaker to 15 amps and be done.

If it says max Fuse size 15 or 20 you will need a fuse to match the size indicated.

The short answer is you must provide the OCPD that the name plate specifies.

Dont you hate it when the mechanical contractor doesn`t mark the units !!!!
