Electric service size

Hello,

I have a question on the electrical service size. I am running the load calculation for a house in southern California and it is about 380A. Should I propose a 400A service or 600A service? It is governed by SCE.

According to the NEC either size is code compliant. 400 amps wouldn't leave much room for future loads but doing so is not an NEC requirement.
