I am relocating an electric stove outlet to another location. This is an older house built in 1940. Upon removing outlet, I found the outlet is wired with 8 gauge wire and has a 60 amp breaker. I have never seen a stove outlet with 60 amp wiring. I looked for a installation manual for stove to verify wire / breaker specs, found nothing but an owners manual
Pulled back cover off stove and verified wiring to be 10 gauge.
When installing new outlet, should I replace 60 amp breaker with 30 amp breaker and 10 gauge wire for stove?
