An anti-tie down circuit has timers and self checking features. They are commonly used with two pushbuttons to control the start cycle of a press. The two buttons nmust both be pressed within a specific time frame and at the end of the press cycle they must both be released.
Because they both need to be released the operator can not "tie" one down. This means both of the operators hands have to be in the correct position for things to operate.
