I am mounting an 1200A 480V ATS right on the edge of a door way. I did not find code with this issue. Any problem here?

You might want to call your local inspector. There may be a setback requirement from the door frame.

I don't see an NEC issue with this installation. I presume that you have the proper working clearances on the other side, and in front.

The ATS( front access only) is mounted in the corner of the building with 5' front working space.
