Washington State has laid off 25 electrical inspectors, out of 100.
How are other states dealing with the slow down?

I was just perusing at one of NJ's State's websites...seems they are HIRING about a half dozen or so EIs as well as some other code officials throughout the State.

There is a county in our state that will not be doing any inspections in 2010. Turning everything over to local inspectors.

I know of at least two other inspectors on this forum that have been laid off. One has been absent from the forum because he had to take a job away from home.

One of the inspection companies in our area has gone to 3 day weeks.

We just hired a new inspector today. I didn't say we would pay him, we just hired him.;)

Business has slowed down, but our company has taken some market share from other inspection companies, so we needed another inspector.

Interesting...Point Pleasant is hiring:

I don't know where the "Jersey Shore" starts/ends at exactly

Well technically speaking I would have to say it starts at Sandy Hook and ends around Cape may, but my location happens to be right next to Point Pleasant, so you were close.........kinda makes me wish I sent my ICS application to the DCA already......oh wait looks like you need HHS too, couple more years before they would OK me for that test I think.

Congrats!

Ok, Inspector Newman I'll admit you got me on a minor technicality there you hair splitter you.

Isn't that what EI's do?

I'm still practicing....I won't be taking those tests for the next 2 days at least!

The "good" thing about taking the EI test ~ you go when YOU want ...very short notice to Prometric
