Electrical panel under window

Location
Iowa
Occupation
Electrical Contractor
I’m relocating a electric panel inside of a home because of clearance issues in front of the panel. Where I’d like to move it to I’d be directly under a window. It’s a non-egress type window. Is there anything in the code that would prevent me from running it here? I don’t know if the inspector would classify that as something being 6 foot above the panel.

As long as the window is not in the dedicated equipment space it should be code compliant. From the photo if it is mounted to the wall under the window the window is out of the dedicated equipment space.

My plan is to mount it directly under the window

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day.....

A little more seriously, casement windows like that are an invitation for all sorts of problems besides water intrusion. When I had mine replaced for glass block a couple years ago, the installer was able to pop all of them out without even breaking the glass. Talk about an open invitation for burglary. If you do proceed, I would recommend that you recommend to the homeowner they replace at least that window before doing your work. A well-mortared glass block will (mostly) solve any water issues, be more secure, more energy efficient, and a better barrier against insects.
