Sorry but even if it temporarily solved the problem it did not do so correctly. A grounding electrode has nothing to do with an open neutral issue. Don summed it up perfectly:

There is no theory behind a ground rod fix. It's fantasy.
No it didn't and since you are not going to tell us what the actual problem was or who found and helped you fix the actual problem we will close this thread
