i hate customers. a lot of them judge a book by its cover. i tend to stutter when i talk and let me tell you how many people think im stupid because of it. they dont think im so stupid when i hand them a bill

EP, that's just plain ignorant and arrogant. Ugghhhh, some people!!!!!

Have you ever heard thee ol' saying when someone is being mean, just smile back on them? It's torture for them!

I did NOT pull into your driveway with some window rattling Mac Daddy music pumping, nor any music for that manner. I removed my shoes or put on booties on your porch. I address you as Maam or Sir, and almost every sentence ends with it. I always use "Please", and "Thank-you!", and they look at me 10X's weirder.

Maybe THEY are the ones who kick their dog:roll:

"He's buttering us up honey, gets the kids and flee!!!"

I hardly ever get that from a receptionist, but the HO stands out in front!

when dealing with people, perception is reality...for everything...that's how companies like Mr. Electric/Mr. Sparky, Nexstar companies, etc, charge the rates they do...

I have a friend who wears a suit to work. his hair is short. people look at him and perceive him as a clean cut, business man...he has tattoos on around 90% of his body. pretty much the only place he doesn't have them is his neck/face and his hands (the places that a long sleeve button down won't cover.

oh, he's a heck of a hell raiser too...

but the perception is that he can be trusted with anything...

Plumbing- In bathroom or kitchen and some in slab
HVAC- inside unit, outside condenser
ELECTRICAL - WE ARE IN EVERY WALL, FLOOR AND CEILING!
BEHIND 50 OUTLETS, 20 LIGHT FIXTURES AND 15 SWITCHES.

CUSTOMERS HATE THAT WE ARE SO HIDDEN.

I don't think I have ever had a customer complain that the electrical was hidden. I will not say that they are happy about having a wall opened to repair a problem but I think most will understand.

Unless there is a fire electrical doesn't have the potential to damage a home like plumbing or even HVAC. You see homes flooded by plumbing leaks and water damage from HVAC. One lady I know is having all her ducts replaced because of mold.

The real problem with electrical is that it works too well. People tend to forget it's even there. They turn on a switch and a light comes on and no one thinks about the wiring that makes this possible. I have had customer that didn't have a single probem for over 20 years and then one day a light doesn't come on and then it's a surprise.

Have the customer pick up a gallon of outlet paint, a gallon of switch paint, and a quart of fixture paint, they can just paint them on the wall, just make sure they buy UL approved paint!

Stand by...

Marc I'm still standing by for decoding of the message. Truthfully I'm not sure where this thread started from nor how it got to where it is now.

Tim here standing by.

Don't scare the little old ladies.I was told you should look like your customers.People are more comfortable around people who look like them.Customers also prefer people who are clean shaven they want to see your face.Customers also like uniforms ,I provide T shirts with the company name on them.
