Electrician with transformer question

We are working in a tanning salon with 16 beds. Existing service is 400 amp 120/208 3 phase. Tanning beds all require 235volt 3 phase. Manufacture makes reference to the use of buck booster transformer to correct this issue. I have suggested a single transformer.
I have one bed that draws 56A. Two beds that draw 33A. One bed that draws 35. Amps four beds that draw 19A. Eight beds that draw 16A. For a connected load of 361A.
The transformer the bed manufacture wants to send is 208y to 235y with 400amps on secondary side which in my mind works the problem I am running into is house panel is only a 400 amp service. The bed manufacture had the contractor that did shell of building set the 400amp panel and said it would be sufficient to feed the transformer. I guess to sum up my question with beds only running 10 min. at a time do I have to account for the 361Amps or can I adjust for non-continues use?

408A would be your continuous, connected load on the line side, assuming all are running simultaneously, which I would think you have to assume. In that case you are over and will probably have nuisance trips on a busy day.

Also, you say house panel, which begs the question of what are you going to power the lights, water heater, recepts etc, from? I'd say you have a problem that needs further investigation.

and air conditioning (including the extra half million BTU/hr of cooling the beds will require!)

A quick sidebar...

This town has 3 tanning salons that I'm aware of. A fourth opend up about a year ago, and out 2 of the others out of business. Just last week I say a few trucks from the local utility, and field supervisor's cars, and some county cars from the district attorney's office around the place. It's been closed since.

I wonder what they were doing?

Maybe it was a front for growing weed. Typically, they watch for changes in large power usage, although a tanning bed place might be a good cover. Not that Im' interested in new business opportunities.
