You know they make fancy electronic levels, and levels with infa red....bla bla

I think someone should come up with a clamp on level for manual conduit bending. When you begin your bend, you could hit a button which would "0Deg" no matter what grade your setting on, then it would "beep" at the desired angle while your bending....15, 22 1/2, 30, 45. It could even be smart enough to calculate spring back........Im getting old and I dont like bending over....:D

Come on, things are slow, some one could work on this, and make millions....I'll buy one !! Maybe Greenlee is listening in??

Not a bad idea, but I usually put my protractor away after familiarizing myself with a bender & specific pipe size. Try using the "amount of travel" method described in several conduit bending books.

The basic prinicple is that for a 90 a bender pulls thru 6-1/2" of pipe (example only), so for a 45 it pulls thr 3-1/4", for 30 degrees it's 2-3/16-, etc.

Works great.

That sounds like a great method I have never tried it that way and now I cant wait to try it.
