Tell me about my new wire router, should I leave it high, or as high as I can put it, or just on the desk?

This is an ?N? Rated technology, higher encryption but it?s only a moderate 65Mbps rates, verses 100 on the hard wire. Anyone have any suggestions or in sites? Signal strength is fine through out house.

This is a Wireless ? N Home Router (Linksys- Cicso) TIA

I really liked the netgear, and hard wire, oh well...

!!!Merry Christmas!!!

My tower is on the floor and the router sits on top.

I have my RF link sitting on the basement floor. This is about as low as I can position it. Range outside of the house is 300 ft or so. I have neighbors that have signals that I can see about 1000 ft from their homes.

What can be a big problem is the radiation from a microwave oven jamming your network communication. The microwave when on may completely disrupt the communication or just slow it down.
