it would take me to long to check through 2011 , 2104, 2017 for the changes based on the level of care than check the building code,
i am going to let someone working your code cycle answer that one, my thought is an egress system and most likely unit equipment would be the min. for emergency lighting

You need to know the building code adopted in that jurisdiction and review Chapter 27 and also determine if there special items or occupancies types such as fire pumps, high rise, underground, hazardous, smoke control systems, etc
