Emergency Lighting in Generator and/or Electrical rooms

Is emergency lighting required in the generator and/or electrical rooms of non-healthcare facilities? We typically design buildings with emergency lighting in the generator/electrical rooms, but is this truly a code requirement? NEC or other?

Found it in NFPA 110, Chapter 7.3.1 for level 1 or level 2 EPS.
