Hello everyone! I am prospectively working on a project in a container yard and one of the things the client is interested in having is an emergency notification system. Not something tied to or connected with the fire alarm but a means within the main control room to press different buttons and send different notifications and alerts throughout the shipyard via speakers and or horns to everyone instantly.

Has anyone worked on a system like this before, and or has any recommendations in terms of vendors. best practices, and requirements?

Thanks in Advance!

Unless this is a legally-required system, I'd strongly recommend that it is never referred to as an EMERGENCY notification system, especially on any drawings or specifications. Gai-tronics has been in this business a long time so I'd suggest you start with them. I believe they are owned by Hubbell now.

I agree on not calling it an emergency system. That opens up all kinds of questions and requirements.
