Should an electrical outlet located within six feet of an emergency shower in a laboratory be GFCI protected?
Maybe it "should" be.Should an electrical outlet located within six feet of an emergency shower in a laboratory be GFCI protected?
If you are under 2020 NEC 210.8(B)(12)Should an electrical outlet located within six feet of an emergency shower in a laboratory be GFCI protected?
That section is for shower stall. If you are under 2020 NEC 210.8(B)(12)
yeah there’s thatThat section is for shower stall.
But for $15.00 why take a chance, install GFCI
We know what a shower stall is, its listed in 210.8 as a location where GFCI is required if within a certain distance, and see NEC on Bathtub/shower zone. An emergency shower is not defined.I had to sleep on this, so why would a Shower “Stall” versus an “Open” / Emergency Shower determine whether or not a receptacle outlet within 6’ is required to be GFCI protected?
And thank you for using the forum.
