I just saw a thread closed because it was an employment ad. In normal times I would agree with that policy however, in the present economy with so many people out of work, I think this policy should be temporally suspended a welcome all electrical employment ads.

I'm not sure about the employment ad policy but if I was looking for employees I believe a forum like this woould be a pretty good place to look. Belonging to this forum shows more than just a casual interest in the electrical buiness. I believe that most of the folks here have a love for all things electrical and are always looking to increase our knowlege and skills. Man what a great labor pool!!

As Bob said, normally it would have been removed but, with that said, what would have needed to be discussed in a thread?

Those who may be interested (including yourself) have the contact information.

Maybe there should be some consideration for these types of threads and post in these times though.

Seems like the right amount of consideration was given.

Agreed, most active members here are very interested in bettering themselves and that is a trait I look for in employees. I already know a few guys on here I would hire if the stars aligned right (And a few I would never let in the door) :)

I propose a job posting area, seems like a great way for this forum to give something back. Someone could post a job description and location and get PM's from interested and qualified members. All in favor say Aye!

It is not up to the mods or members, it would have to be a Mike Holt decision.

I like that about this forum... theres none of that stuff allowed. Thats whats craigslist and whatnot are for. I like to come here, ask questions, participate in conversations and learn to make me a better electrician. It doesnt hurt to have a little fun once in a while as well.

Call me crazy ,..but if there are all these electricians looking for work wouldn't it be easy to fill a job vacancy and therefore less pressure on the employer to need this kind of advetisment??

It is when electricians are hard to come by,. that the rule in this regard should be slackened ,.No??

I guess your way would be showing concern for the employer where we are showing concern for those out of work.

This employment area already exists on Mikes Home Page, you guys aren't using your 110.3(A)(8), ...coming in contact with the equipment, via (A)Examination ...<j/k>

While this Job Opportunities Listing is not by any means an end all, (again)that's not why where all here! Is it ?

I also strongly agree with alot of these threads but the two that I re-threaded, Tool_'s and Zog's same thoughts come back to me all the time!

Thanks, Mike Holt for your progressive vision, Thank You - Moderators for maintaining that vision!

I am not insensitive to the plight of the out work electrician ,.. I am talking basic forces of the market.. An out of work electrician will have to be much more proactive in this economic environment .. and an employer can be much less active in pursuit of applicants..

Now,.. a page for resumes on the other hand may not be a bad idea ,.. It would give a guy/gal a chance to sell himself in a market when few are buying.
