Is it acceptable to run EMT with compression connectors through (length wise) a return air duct? NEC 300.22 (B) says "yes" but everyone I talk to says no! Anyone have a better understanding of the code? Please?

Yes, as far as the NEC is concerned, you can run EMT in environmental return air ducts (supply ducts to) and you can even use set screw connectors

In large AHU's you can find EMT, stamped steel boxes, mason jar type luminaires, etc... in the air compartments.

Thank You. Sometimes When Reading The Nec It Leaves The Answer To A Question Such As Mine Up To "my" Interpretation, But Then When The Inspector Shows Up, Well, So Much For My Interpretation! I Appreciate Your Help.
