You can support a box with all-thread, you just can't support a box with fittings and/or lock nuts.

Thanks I was not aware I could hang 4 s box from allthread to support luminare. I was misreading code I guess.

Yes all thread is threaded rod and comes in many sizes.

fixture mounts to a j box, right?

how about using two swivel covers, with
a nipple in between? at least it would be
a cleaner install. bolt the cover directly to
the fixture.....

now, so you don't have to take your general
liability policy for a spin, what i'd do, is use
#10 stranded for the ground, strip it and
bolt it to the upper j box with fender washers
and nuts and bolts, and bolt it the same way
toi the fixture, with fender washers.

then the #10 makes a pretty fair safety leash
as well as a bond.

and yeah, you are gonna have to cut and thread.

so, you are in two sticks of 1/2" grc, and 4 swivel
covers, per fixture, and the labor to cut and thread.

about $100 per fixture.....
