Hi All,

I've never used one before. Is anyone familiar with an Enclosed Circuit Breaker (ECB) disconnect switch with a Kirk key rather than a typical AC disconnect switch that the EOR has included in its design before the Point Of Interconnection to the existing switchgear? This would allow them to lock the breaker during a utility outage and backfeed from a generator power.

I'm looking for an 800A, 480/277V, 65kA outdoor-rated ECB with a Kirk key.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated in advance.

Thanks

Kirk Keys are used in sets for two or more CBs so only one one at a time can be connected to a bus. Say you have a PV system and a backup generator connected to a common bus and you did not want the PV system connected at the same time as the backup generator. A Kirk Key system would prevent both from being connected at the same time.
