EPO Button Mounting Height

I'm designing an EPO for a computer room at the owner request. The owner would like the EPO button to be mounted at 72" AFF.

In NEC, I cannot find any requirements regarding the minimum or maximum height restrictions for an EPO button. Does anyone know if NFPA or ADA requires the button to be mounted at a specific height?

Thanks Shockin, but it doesn't help me with my issue. Regardless of whether the room follows Article 645 or not, the owner demands an EPO for his room. So he is getting an EPO.

My only concern is he wants his EPO mounted at 72"AFF. Nowhere can I find a height requirement for the emergency disconnecting means.

My reason for believing there may be a height requirement is based off the ADA regulation on the height of pull stations. I felt as it is an EPO, it would be used in only an emergency. If there was a person in a wheelchair in the room, there would be no way he can press the EPO at 72".

I checked ADA, but as there are so many ways to describe an EPO (as evidenced by your link), either I missed it or its not there. The same goes with various sections of NFPA I checked.

I had similar difficulty in locating shunt trip emergency off buttons for our facility. I used 404.8 NEC 2008 maximum height for switch and circuit breaker handles as my guide. The max. height is 2 meters (6' 7") so 72" should be OK.

I would treat the same as a light switch, pull station etc. 54" AFF max if side reach accessible or 48" AFF max if forward reach must be used.

I agree on the mounting height.
If there is concern about the accidental pressing of the button I would use a stopper cover like this one.
